Roadline Carriers' trucks were running the Oragadam–Bangalore corridor full one way and empty the other. Here's how lane-specific campaigns filled that return-leg capacity and converted a third of enquiries into signed contracts.

Roadline ran a reliable Oragadam-to-Bangalore freight service, fully booked outbound with industrial cargo — but the return leg told a different story. Nearly half of all return trips came back empty, because there was no direct way to reach Bangalore-side shippers who needed exactly that reverse route on exactly that schedule. Roadline's digital presence was generic: broad "transport services Chennai" and "logistics company Bangalore" campaigns pulled enquiries from anyone, anywhere, for any lane — most of which the fleet wasn't even positioned to serve profitably. Sales spent hours quoting freight that didn't match available capacity or timing, while the one thing Roadline actually had to sell — that specific return-leg capacity — kept going out the door for free.
Mapped exactly which corridors, days and time windows had chronically idle return-leg capacity, with Oragadam–Bangalore as the clearest gap.
Replaced generic city-wide logistics ads with campaigns keyed to exact lane searches — "Bangalore to Chennai transport," "Oragadam return load," and similar.
Built a page per corridor stating available capacity windows, vehicle types, transit time, and a quote-request form built for that lane alone.
Optimized listings at both ends of the corridor — Chennai and Bangalore — so local search surfaced Roadline for lane-specific queries on either side.
Built a fast WhatsApp-based quote flow for high-intent enquiries and retargeted shippers who'd viewed a lane page without converting.
Pre-qualified freight type, weight and timeline before handoff, so sales only quoted enquiries that actually matched available capacity.
A precise offer beats a broad keyword. "Logistics services Chennai" competes with a hundred generic providers. "Return-leg capacity, Oragadam to Bangalore, Thursdays" competes with almost no one — and converts at a rate broad logistics keywords never will.
Lane-specific campaigns brought in enquiries that were already pre-matched to real available capacity — and converted accordingly.
The Oragadam–Bangalore return leg now runs loaded on the large majority of trips, up from barely half before.
Corridor targeting didn't just convert better — it also surfaced far more of the right kind of enquiry in the first place.
"We'd been running that Oragadam–Bangalore route for years and just accepted that the truck came back empty half the time — it felt like the cost of doing business. Once the campaigns started speaking directly to shippers who needed that exact return leg, we started converting a third of every enquiry into a signed contract. That capacity isn't going to waste anymore, and it shows up directly in the numbers every month."
Conversion and empty-leg figures are tracked from the client's dispatch and contracts records, matched against enquiry source for the full engagement window. Enquiry-volume comparisons use the same lane definitions before and during the engagement. Timeframe and starting baseline stated above, as with every case study we publish.
