The challenge

Traffic Without a Single High-Intent Ranking

Ferrotech Engineering had 19 years of CNC-machining experience, a clean plant, and roughly 4,000 organic visits a month according to Analytics — a number that looked healthy until you checked what those visits were actually searching for. Almost all of it was branded traffic: people who already knew the company's name, typing it directly into Google. On every real buyer term — "CNC machined components manufacturer india," "precision turned parts supplier," specific tolerance and material searches — Ferrotech didn't rank on page one, page two, or often page five. The website was built around a single generic "Services" page with no per-process or per-tolerance content, so Google had nothing specific to rank. Sales kept asking why a "successful" website produced almost no enquiries, and marketing had no good answer.

01 — What we did

The Technical SEO & Content Playbook We Ran

1Week 1–2

Technical & Content Audit

Separated branded from non-branded traffic to show leadership the real problem, then audited crawl, indexation and schema gaps across the site.

2Week 2–4

Buyer-Intent Keyword Mapping

Mapped exact-match searches procurement engineers make by process, material and tolerance — the terms the single "Services" page could never rank for.

3Month 1–3

Product & Process Page Architecture

Replaced the generic services page with dedicated pages per machining process, material grade and tolerance class.

4Month 3–6

Topic Cluster Buildout

Pillar pages on CNC machining, materials and quality systems, supported by clusters of technical articles targeting long-tail spec searches.

5Month 6–9

Technical SEO & Speed Fixes

Fixed crawl errors, added schema markup, and cut mobile load time from 5.8s to under 2s so the new content could actually get indexed and ranked.

6Month 9–11

Authority Building & RFQ Tracking

Citations across manufacturing directories and technical guest content, with monthly reporting tied to RFQs, not raw traffic.

i

Vanity traffic was the trap, not the fix. Ferrotech's board initially resisted a rebuild because "traffic was already fine" — separating branded from non-branded search on day one was what got the project greenlit.

What the Management Says

★★★★★

"Our Analytics dashboard had always looked fine, which is exactly why nobody caught the real problem for years. Once we saw it was almost all branded traffic, the rebuild made complete sense — and now RFQs arrive from buyers quoting our own tolerance pages."

Methodology

Organic traffic figures come from Google Search Console and Analytics, with branded and non-branded traffic split out to isolate real growth. RFQ counts are quality-tagged with the client's sales team, not raw form submissions. Timeframe and starting baseline stated above, as with every case study we publish.
